The MD of a company manufacturing air purifiers and soaps assigned the production target of 50,000 each in a month to his divisional managers. Mr. Abhay is the air purifier division manager and Mr. Dev is the soaps division manager. Mr abhay produced 50,000 air purifiers but mr. Dev only produced 49,990 soaps. Mr. Abhay asked the MD to fire Mr. Dev as he was ineffective. Mr. Dev said that although he did not achieve the target , his performance was very close, so he should be allowed to work in the company. You as the MD is requested to take the decision. Explain the concept of management you will consider while taking the decision.
