Reasons mughal empire declined are: 1.Aurangzeb's policies. One of them was jaziya in which more taxes were collected from non-muslims,so non-muslims afterwards objected for it. 2.Weak successors after Aurangzeb. 3.Aurangzeb's long war in deccan. It allowed other rulers to be independent. 4.Mughals allowed outsiders to enter in India. After entering in India Nadir Shah in 1739 sacked and plundered the city Delhi. This invasion was followed by an Afghan ruler Ahmad Shah Abdali who invaded north India five times between 1748-1761. 5.Increase of mansabdars during Aurangzeb's rule.So most of taxes were given to mansabdars as their salary. 6.Shah Jahan's construction of Taj Mahal made the treasures of Mughal Empty.
