1) Metallic minerals having iron content are called ferrous minerals.
2) These minerals account for about three court of the total value of the production of metallic minerals.
3) India exports a fairly large amount of ferrous minerals.
4) These minerals provide a strong base for the development of matallurigical industries.
5) Examples:Iron ore and manganese.
Non-Ferrous minerals:
1) Minerals that do contain iron content are called Non-Ferrous minerals.
2) India has only a few reserves of Non-Ferrous minerals.
3) These minerals include copper,lead,zinc, bauxite,gold etc are vital various industries like metallurgical, engineering and electrical industries.
