Expression= Considering a point charge +q We have to calculate it's potential at point P at a distance r from q. Potential will be equal to work done per unit test charge in bringing it from infinity to point P. Small work done A to B dw= Fdx cos 180 =-Fdx As F = kqq•/x2 dw=(-Kqq•/x2)dx After integrating we get V= Kq/r
