Giant waves that sometimes hit the coasts are called Tsunami.

The word Tsunami originated from the Japanese words tsu meaning Harbour and Nami meaning waves. They are huge destructive waves also known as tidal waves but not caused due to tides they are caused due to internal movement of the earth causing undersea earthquakes volcanic eruptions underseal and slicer shifting of plates this Trigger waves which as you're normal size and use hide on approaching the coast cause great destruction.

Tsunami is a Japanese word,which means harbour wave. Tsu means harbour,nami means wave. It is a huge wall of water with tremenduous engery which destroy anything that comes in its path.
