You would given a statement P (n) and you have to prove it true for the given results. 1. Firstly you have to prove P (1) is true. 2. Then, assume P (k) is true. 3. If P (k) is true, then P (k+1) is also true. So prove P (k+1) is true by using the result of P (k). In this way you can prove P (n) is true.
