Starts twinkle due to atmospheric refraction . stars are very far away from us and they appear as a point source of light.the light coming from stars undergoes continuous refraction due to variation in the optical density of different layers of earth atmosphere ..therefore the startlight reaching our eyes increases and decreases due to atmospheric refraction.as a result the stars appears to be twinkling

Star are very far from Earth. So they appear to point size. The light comes from star. Goes on bright and dim because of atmospheric retraction( changing atmospheric) . So they appear Twinkle..

Star twinkle due to atmospheric refraction of starlight. As the stars are very far away, they behave as almost point source of light. As on account of atmospheric refraction, the path of rays of light coming from the star goes on varying slightly, the apparent position of the star fluctuate and amount of starlight entering the eye flickers. So sometimes the star appears brighter and some time, fainter. Thus the star twinkle
