As both angles are supplementary so, => (40-a)° +(120-2a)°= 180° => 40-a + 120 -2a = 180 => 160 - 3a = 180 => -3a = 180-160 => -3a = 20 Or 3a = -20 So, a = -20/3 = - 6.6666....
