    Mansabdari system was the administrative system of the mughal empire introduced by akbar in 1595-96CE. The system determined the rank of govt. Officers. MERITS - * increased militiary efficiency * increased revenue to the state * the system was not hereditary, it was given on the basis of merit and could be enhanced or lowered. DEMERITS - *the mansabdars got their salaries from the king and paid themselves their salaries to their troops. *system proved to be highly expensive due to high salary * caste system prevailed in the system.
