So2 is reducing agent while Teo2 is an oxidizing agent. How? If I write the sulphur configuration then it's end with 3p orbital. It have no d orbital so how it's reduction number changes from 4 to 6

So2 tends to oxidize itself from +4 to +6 therefore acting as reducing agent whereas due to inert pair effect teo2 tends to reduce itself thereby acting as oxidizing agent
