1st:: find the point of intersection of lines x+2y-3=0 and 4x-y+7=0 , which is the solution of the lines. (use substitution or elimination method) 2nd:: find the slope of 5x+4y-20=0 (y=mx+c,where m is the slope or coefficient of x) 3rd:: since two lines are to be parallel, slope must be equal. 4th:: Use slope point form to get the equation[m=(y-y') /(x-x') where x'and y' are the solutions in step 1] Hope you got your answer All the best.
