Accountability means answerablity for outcome of the assigned task.... Accountability can not be delegated. For example, if ’A’ is given a task with sufficient authority, and ’A’ delegates this task to B and asks him to ensure that task is done well, now responsibility is with ’B’, but accountability is still with ’A’. The top level management is most accountable. Being accountable means being innovative as the person will think beyond his scope of job. Accountability, in short, means being answerable for the end result. Accountability can’t be escaped. It arises from responsibility.

The top officials of a country’s Government held a meeting in order to speed up the business growth. In the meeting it was decided that there was a need for granting several exemptions to the Business Units already established. Similiarly ,they felt that with a view to setting up new Business Units the young men needed to be encouraged. Also it was emphasized in the meeting that the entry of Multinational companies needed to be simplified. Besides, priority was given to relaxing restrictions imposed on Import Business.
