Transpiration is necessary evil. Explain
  • 1 answers

Susmita Sikdar 7 years, 11 months ago

Transpiration is a very important activity as it facilitates the movement of water and minerals up towards the leaves in plants. At the same time If the water loss is more than the uptake of the water by the roots, it can cause wilting and even death of the plant. It is for this reason that Curtis in 1926 had rendered Transpiration as a necessary evil.
