Weight will be less at equater as centrigugal force is exerted due to rotation of earth

I think an object would weigh 0.5% more at poles than at equator.

I think ans should be that the acceleration due to gravity changes according to location.It has higher value at poles than at equator.This simply implies that man would weigh more at pole than equator. W= mg...................From this formula when 'g' inc , the weight of any object automatically inc.
