Nephrons are structural and functional unit of excretory system.About 1 million nephrons occur in each kidney.Its main function is filtration and reabsorption. The amount of water reabsorbed depends on how much excess water is in the body and how much dissolved waste is to be excreted. It's structure consists of Bowman capsule, glomerular, renal artery , renal vein and collecting duct which coordinate their function and make nephrons efficient to do its functions. So we can say that structure of nephrons are very well suited to its function.
