Due to scattering phenomena of light white light coming from sun strikes the dust particles present in atmosphere and scatters all around. The light having shorter wavelength scatters more than longer wavelength. So violet scatters maximum and red the minimum. But as our eyes are not sensitive to violet colour we receive the second most scattered light blue in our eyes.
