Rate law is the expression in which rate of reaction is given in terms of molar concentration of reactants with each term raised to some power which may or may not be equal to stioichiometric coefficient of the reacting species in a balanced chemical equation and law of mass action is that at a given temperature rate of chemical reaction is directly proportional to the product of concentration of reactants.
