Sonali Verma 8 years ago

Due to presence of residual force on surface of adsorbent .
Adsorptuon takes place because of weak vanderwaals forces on the surface the adsorbent.as in the core of the adsorbent equal and opposite forces are acting on the molecules whereas on the surface these molecules are free from one side .so substace get adsorb on it to balance the force.
