Difference between Prudential & Moral reasons

  • Prudential reasons:-
    • they are based on careful calculation of gains and losses.
    • It help to reduce the possibility of conflict between social groups.
    • Reservation of constituency for minorities and women in India is a Prudential reason.
  • Moral reasons:-
    • they are based purely on moral considerations.
    • It considered as the basic spirit of democracy.
    • Decentralization of power in India is an example of moral reason.

Prudential reason means it stops conflicts between different forms of the government Whereas Moral reason means power sharing is spirit of democracy.
