The functioning of electrochemical cell depends upon the potential difference veloped at the electrodes. During working of electrochemical cell, the reduction potential of Lthode decreases and of anode increases and a stage comes when both reduction potentials come equal and flow of electrons stops. Thus at this stage electrochemical cell stops functioning.
