Oasis is form in desert when there is underground river or water source beneath the surface, the water gets accumulated below the sand because of rocks beneath which water can't percolate. So it becomes naturally fertile for plants. Sometimes migrating bird pass by over it, they stop by for water which can be the reason for natural seed planting I guess, not sure about it.
Oasis keeps on thriving in such hot and dry topology is another story. The water source of the oasis is or can be maintained via various ways depending upon its location/topology. The ways of water replenishment are as follows-
1. An underground water source, a river or crevice leading to a distant water source.
2. Occasional thunderstorms.
3. Pressure difference between underground water source and crest surface.
