Aptitude Test:
1. The Board will offer an Aptitude Test (optional) which along with other school records and CCE would help the students, parents and teachers in deciding the choice of the subjects at Class XI.
2. The Board proposes to provide an opportunity to students to undertake the Aptitude Test twice, once at the end of Class IX and then at the end of Class X.

CBSE has introduced new grading Pattern for class 10 students. There will be nine grades. The highest will be A1 (exceptional) with a grade point of 10 and a marks range of 91-100%. Second grade will be A2 (excellent) with a grade point of 9 and marks in the range of 81-90%. Third grade will be B1 (very good) with grade point of 8 and a marks range of 71-80%.
The new grading and assessment system of the Central Board of Secondary Education will help schools to get rid of rote learning. But how exactly will the system work?
THE ACADEMIC SESSION
Each academic session in Class IX and X will comprise two terms and students will have two term-end exams called summative assessment.
“The CBSE will provide a question bank to schools, which will then prepare their question papers for the term-end exam and evaluate papers internally,” said CBSE Chairperson Vineet Joshi.

Under Under the new system, students will be evaluated through formative and summative assessments throughout the academic year that will be divided into two terms. While formative assessment includes continuous evaluation throughout the year, summative assessment will require students to appear for exams at the end of each term.
The Central Board of Secondary Education is all set to roll out the grading system and do away with the conventional method of evaluation.
Though, CBSE is formulating a detailed plan for this, teachers and parents are apprehensive of the implementation of the decision that is hanging fire since last many years.
Students and teachers are desperately awaiting the implementation of the grading system.
CBSE, New Delhi has made changes to the syllabus of some subjects in class 10 and class 12. New Sample Papers for March 2010 Examination have been issued by CBSE for these subjects. These CBSE Sample Papers can be accessed at CBSE official website or http://mycbseguide.com
In class 10 CBSE issued new sample papers for Science, Social Science and German Language whereas Sample Papers for Mathematics has no changes. It is same as issued for 2009 examination.
Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi has made some changes to the class 10 Social Science Question Paper for March 2010 examination. CBSE Class X Compartment Exam Results – 2009 is issued by Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi on July 10, 2009.
The class 10 result is announced for all the regions at once. Students belonging to any region can get the result at www.cbseresults.nic.in any time.
Right now CBSE has 8 regions. The result is meant for all these regions.
These regions are
Class 10 result for other regions is coming on 29 May 2009. CBSE class 10 result is being announced after 4 days of declaration of class 12 result in all regions. Class 12 result was declared on 20 and 22May 2009.
Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi i.e. CBSE has announced result declaration date for class 10. The result for CBSE class 10 for Chennai, Ajmer and Panchkula regions will be announced on May 26, 2009 at 10:00 Hrs.
CBSE Compartment Result for all Regions is Declared.

Unsuccessful students will be given another chance to appear in Compartmental Examination.
The First chance compartmental examination will commence on 18th July, 2009. Candidates will route their requests through the Head of institution. The Heads of Institutions will ensure that the list of compartmental candidates reaches the respective regional office by 23rd of June, 2009.
To strengthen the importance of ‘Hands On’ experience in realizing the concepts and construction of knowledge, the practical – skill based multiple choice question paper for Board’s class X Examination were based on list of experiments included in class X as well as class IX syllabus.
Equal weightage in terms of marks (10+10) was assigned to questions based on class IX experiments and class X experiments. Accordingly, the publication on assessments of practical skills in science was revised and made available to schools.
For the 12th year the second phase of CBSE counseling has been launched from 20th May upto 3rd June 2009, through TELE HELPLINE, IVRS AND CBSE WEBSITE. Psychological help is provided to the students during this time to cope with post result situations successfully.
Tele-Helpline: As many as 37 principals, trained counselors from CBSE affiliated govt. and private schools, psychologists and social scientists will operate this telephonic helpline individually from 8 AM-8 PM in four time slots.
Facility of verification of marks is available to all candidates. The candidates can apply for verification of marks in a manner that their applications reach the respective regional office(s) within 21 days of the declaration of result in case of Main Exam i.e. Exam held in March/April. However for Comptt Exam, i.e. Exam held in July, the application must reach respective regional offices with in 15 days of the declaration of the result.
The Result for CBSE Chennai, Ajmer and Panchkula regions is scheduled to be declared on May 20, 2009. This year CBSE has changed the time of declaration of the board results. The Result will be declared at 10:00 a.m. in the morning over internet as well as in the schools.
The results for CBSE Delhi, Guwahati and Allahabad regions is scheduled to be declared on May 22, 2009. The class 12 result for these regions will also be declared at 10:00 a.m. in the morning.
