The Biot Savart's Law we know is given by:
δB = μ0/4π Idlsin(θ)/r2, where θ is the angle between the line element dl and the radial unit vector r^.
Now we know: r^=rr, using this and the cross product of two vectors we get; δB = 4μ0/4π (Id-r)/r2

(i) when magnet is pushed near a bar magnet then it induces current due to electromagnetic induction. When a bar magnet is pushed into the coil of insulated copper wire connected to a galvanometer, an induced current is set-up in the coil clue to change of magnetic field through it. As a result, galvanometer gives a deflection (say towards left).

Angle of declination (α) :
The angle between the geographical meridian and magnetic meridian is known as angle of declination.
This angle is smaller at the equator and greater at higher latitudes. At equator, the magnetic meridian will be close to geographic meridian.

An electric dipole is a pair of equal and opposite point charges q and –q, separated by a distance of 2a.
- Direction from –q to q is the direction of the dipole.
- The mid-point of locations of –q and q is called the center of the dipole.
- Total charge of an electric dipole is zero but since the charges are separated by some distance the electric field do not cancel out.
- Dipole moment is the mathematical product of the separation of the ends of a dipole and the magnitude of the charges (2a x q).
- Some molecules like H2O, have permanent dipole moment as their charges do not coincide. These molecules are called polar molecules.
