AC is alternating current which reverses it's direction after regular interval of time whereas DC is direct current which continues to flow in one direction. The magnitude of dc may vary or may remain constant but it's direction of flow remains same. The number of times the ac changes it's direction in one second is called its frequency, in India the frequency of ac is 50 Hz
