Nutritive Components Of Diet: There is a large number of nutrients required in our balanced diet. Some of them are “Nutritive components” like Carbohydrates, Fats, and Proteins.
Non-Nutritive Components Of Diet: Whereas some of the other components of the diet are also required which are “Non-Nutritive Components” such as Vitamins, Minerals, Water and Roughage (Fibers).

Balance Diet is the diet that contains all the principle constituents of food in appropriate quantities required by the body. In other words, balanced diet is the diet that nourishes the body with sufficient amount of nutrients required by the body. Balanced diet comprises the components like carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and sufficient amount of water. Balanced diet keeps our body fit and resistant to diseases.

Macro nutrients: Macronutrients mainly include carbohydrates, proteins and fats and also water which are required in large quantities and their main function being the release of energy in body. Macronutrients include Carbon, Oxygen, Hydrogen, and Nitrogen.
Micro nutrients: Micronutrients mainly comprise vitamins and minerals which are required in minute quantities. However, both macro nutrients as well as micro nutrients are essential. Micro nutrients are chlorine, iron, manganese, zinc, boron, sodium, copper, molybdenum and nickel.
