In the post-Mauryan age, the idea of kingship got associated with the divine theory of the state. Now, the monarchs began to talk about divine sanction to rule the people. We can discuss the kingship based on the dynasties as:

  1. Kushan Kings called themselves Devputra to get divine status. They built great statues of themselves in temples.
  2. The second development of kingship is found during the Gupta dynasty. That time large lands were under the Samantas who sometimes overruled the king.
  3. Literature, coins, and inscriptions helped us in creating a history of those days. But we did not get actual history, only praising of Kings.

In the post mauryan age, kings? started to claim high status by identifying themselves with a variety of deities. For this objective, kushana rulers made colossal statues of their own and adopted the title of 'Devaputra'. In the post mauryan age, the iron tripped plough share and artificial means of irrigation were used. It led to an increase in agricultural production and income of the kings?.

The immediate cause of the Indian Revolt of 1857, or Sepoy Mutiny, was a seemingly minor change in the weapons used by the British East India Company's troops. ... The switch only confirmed, in the minds of the sepoys, that the original cartridges had indeed been greased with cow and pig fat.

The drainage system of the Harappan cities was the best known to the world in ancient times. The brickwork prevented the dirty water from leaking. Wooden screens stopped the solid wastes from being washed away with the water. Drains were built on either side of the roads.

Puravjeet Jaat Ladre 4 years, 4 months ago

• The drainage system in Harappan cities indicates town-planning. It was carefully planned and constructed. • Roads and streets were laid out along an approximate "grid" pattern, intersecting at right angles. • It seems that streets with drains were laid out first and then house? built along them. • The underground drainage system connected all houses? to the streets drains which were covered by stone slabs or bricks ?.
