Ideal solutions are the solutions which obey Raoult's law whereas non ideal solution do not obey Raoult's law.

In case of ideal solution interaction between solute-solvent particles remains same as that of solute-solute ans solvent-solvent particle interaction whereas in case of non ideal solution it either increases or decreases.

Due to the presence of vacant d and f orbitals, elements down a group can expand their covalency beyond a value that is assigned to them. While the first member of the group can't expand its covalency due to the absence of d and f orbitals.

Molality of a solution is defined as moles of solute per kiogram mass of solvent. Molarity of a solution is defined as moles of solute per litre volume of solution. Molarity of a solution depends on volume of solution, and since volume depends on temperature, therefore molarity depends on temperature. But molality is independent of temperature.

Its could also be due to sterric hinderance. O and m isomers of dichlorobenzene are less stable as compared to p-dichlorobenzene and that's due to sterric hinderance. Hence the melting point of o and m are not so higher to break as p have.

? ? 5 years, 6 months ago

Its not due to hydrogen bonding as there is no provision due to absence of o, f or n ....in this case it is due to symmetry in p dichlorobenzene which helps in easy paking of molecules and thus increasing mpt

Due to inter molecular hydrogen bond in p dichlorobenzene

Those solution which donot obey Roults law

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 6 months ago

Non-ideal solution: Solutions which do not obey the Raoults law over the entire range of concentration, are called non-ideal solutions. The vapour pressure of non-ideal solutions is either higher or lower than the ideal, i.e. predicted by Raoult's Law.

In conductors the valence band is partially filled and overlaps high energy conduction band and hence electrons can easily flow . Whereas in case Semiconductors have a small energy gap between the valence band and the conduction band. Electrons can make the jump up to the conduction band, but not with the same ease as they do in conductors.

The solution which does not obey Raoult's law at any range of concentration and at all temperature are called Non ideal solutions

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 6 months ago

The solutions which don’t obey Raoult’s law at every range of concentration and at all temperatures are called Non-Ideal Solutions. Non-ideal solutions deviate from ideal solutions and are also known as Non-Ideal Solutions.

A chiral molecule is one that is not superimposable on its mirror image. These molecules contain one asymmetric or chiral carbon atom. For example, butan-2-ol.
An achiral molecule, on the other hand, is one which is superimposable on its mirror image. For example, propan-2-ol.
