Aldol Condensation can be defined as an organic reaction in which enolate ion reacts with a carbonyl compound to form β-hydroxy ketone or β-hydroxy aldehyde, followed by dehydration to give a conjugated enone. Aldol Condensation plays a vital role in organic synthesis, creating a path to form carbon-carbon bonds.

Dipole moments occur when there is a separation of charge. They can occur between two ions in an ionic bond or between atoms in a covalent bond; dipole moments arise from differences in electronegativity

Tanya ?? 3 years, 10 months ago

Dipole moments occur when there is a separation of charge. They can occur between two ions in an ionic bond or between atoms in a covalent bond; dipole moments arise from differences in electronegativity. ... The dipole moment is a measure of the polarity of the molecule.

Due to absence of d-orbitals in its valence shell

Mr. Singh 3 years, 10 months ago

Because of absence of d-orbitals in its valence shell. Here, the multiple bonding is due to p(pi)or p(pi)-d(pi) bonding. The vacant 3d-orbitals of S overlap with the filled 2p orbitals of O.

Two or more cations of lower valency are replaced by a cation of higher valency to maintain electrical neutrality. Hence some cation vacancies are created. For example : In an ionic solid 'NaCl' , is impurity of Sr2+ is added  (as SrCl2) then two Na+ ions left thus lattice sited. To maintain electrical neutrality one lattice site is occupied by Sr2+ ion while other lattice site will remain vacant.

Colligative properties of solutions are properties that depend upon the concentration of solute molecules or ions, but not upon the identity of the solute. Colligative properties include vapor pressure lowering, boiling point elevation, freezing point depression, and osmotic pressure

Manish Jee 3 years, 10 months ago

The boiling point of a liquid is the temperature at which it's vapour pressure becomes equal to atmospheric pressure . But the vapour pressure of a solution is always lowered due to the addition of non volatile solute.

The coloured dye in litmus will get adsorbed on the surface of charcoal so, i.e. why the litmus solution becomes colorless.

Devil ? 3 years, 10 months ago

Due to adsorption

Gaurav Seth 3 years, 10 months ago

ANSWER
When a solution of acetic acid in water is shaken with charcoal, a part of the acid is adsorbed by the charcoal and the concentration of the acid decreases in the solution. Similarly, the litmus solution when shaken with charcoal becomes colourless.

Most of the reaction of fluorine is exothermic because fluorine in its elemental state is considered to be electronegative element in the periodic table of all the elements.

The reaction of fluorine always helps in producing a huge amount of energy with the production of oxygen and water.

Therefore, fluorine is exothermic.
