Froth Flotation Process
Ore contains rocky impurities which are needed to be separated before processing. This process is called concentration of ore. The principle of froth flotation process is that sulphide ores are preferentially wetted by the pine oil, whereas the gangue particles are wetted by the water. In this process, a suspension of a powdered ore is made with water. In this process, a suspension of a powdered ore is made with water.
Collectors like pine oil, fatty acids and xanthates are added to it. Froth stabilizers like cresols, aniline stabilize the froth. The minerals particles become wet by oils while gangue particles by water. The mixture is agitated with the help of mechanical stirrer by passing blast of air. The froth is formed which is lighter and skimmed off. The froth is dried for recovery of the ore particles.

The reason is triple bond between two bondes nitrogen atom and the bond dissociation enthalpy of triple bond of nitrogen is very high (i.e approximately 915KJ ) due to the presence of triple bond . Therefore, N2 less reactive at room temperature. We can also say that N2 acts as inert ga s at room temperature.

Convert nitrobenzene to aniline using fe hcl and then convert it into diazonium using nano2 plus hcl and convert diazonium to benzoic acid using cucn /kcn and hydrolysis add heat with ammonia to form benzamide then lialh4

Yogita Ingle 7 years, 2 months ago

Step1: firstly convert nitrobenzene to aniline in presence of Fe and HCl.
Step2: then convert aniline to n-triple bond ncl in the presence of HCl and NaNO2.
Step3: then convert n-triple bond ncl to iodobenzene in the presence of KI.

?those reagents which oxidize even very reactive compounds having weaker bond r k/d mild oxidising agents?...e. g. - Pyridinium chlorochromate (PCC)..... PCC oxidizes alcohols..... from 1° alcohols to aldehydes and from 2° alcohols to ketones.....:-)

Aldehydes having at least one methyl group linked to the carbonyl carbon atom respond to iodoform test. They are oxidized by sodium hypoiodite (NaOI) to give iodoforms. Ethanal having  a methyl group responds to this test, but propanal does not.
When warmed with iodine and sodium hydroxide solution, ethanal gives yellow crystals of iodoform. Propanal does not give this iodoform test.

Acetophenone and Benzophenone can be distinguished using the iodoform test.

Iodoform test:

Methyl ketones are oxidized by sodium hypoiodite to give yellow ppt. of iodoform. Acetophenone being a methyl ketone responds to this test, but benzophenone does not.
C6H5COCH3 + 3NaOI → C6H5COONa + CHI3 + 2 NaOH
C6H5COC6H5 + NaOI → No yellow ppt of CHI3
