An oxide is a binary compound obtained when oxygen reacts with another element. On the premise of their oxygen content, oxides can be extensively arranged into mixed oxides and simple oxides.

A Simple Oxides

Simple oxides are oxides that carry only that number of oxygen atoms as is allowed by the normal valency of its metal.

Example: H2O, MgO& Al2O3.

B Mixed Oxides

Two simple oxides combine to form mixed oxides.

Example: Lead dioxide (PbO2) and lead monoxide (PbO) together form the mixed oxide Red lead (Pb3O4).

Ferric oxide (Fe2O3) and ferrous oxide (FeO) together form the mixed oxide Ferro-ferric oxide (Fe3O4).

Benzene sulphonyl chloride

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 3 months ago

Hinsberg reagent is an alternative name for benzene sulfonyl chloride. This name is given for its use in the Hinsberg test for the detection and distinction of primary, secondary, and tertiary amines in a given sample.

This reagent is an organosulfur compound. Its chemical formula can be written as C6H5SO2Cl. The appearance of Hinsberg reagent can be described as a colorless oil that is viscous in nature and is soluble in organic solvents.

This Reagent undergoes reaction with compounds that contain O-H and N-H bonds that are reactive in nature. It is used in the preparation of sulfonamides (via reaction with amines) and sulfonamide esters (via reaction with alcohol).

When ethanol undergo catalysis hydrolsis then it change to alchol.ie. when H2SO4+H2O is used then it is known as catalysis hydrolysis. Here H2O accept H+ and change into H3O+and then react with ethene and change it into alchol.
