Electron rich species which contain more than one donar atom but only one type of atom donate electron at a time is known as ambident nucleophile.

Himanshu Sekhar Khadanga 6 years, 3 months ago

Nucleophiles are basically a group of atoms, molecules, compounds which can donate PAIR of electrons to form coordination covalent bonds for example halogen ions(except fluoride ion), sulphate ion, any negatively charged ion, NH3, etc... Ambident nucleophiles a.k.a. ambidentate (ambident) ligands are the nucleophiles (eletron PAIR donors) which have two donor sites from where they can donate electrons and form coordinate bond condition given that they form ONLY one bond at a single time. For example cynide ion can form only one bond at a time but can form the bond from two different donor st=pots i.e., from carbon as well as from nitrogen, same for thiocynide ion which can again from only one bond at a time but from two different donor sites cabon and nitrogen, also nito group and many more....

Dipole moment depends upon distance between atom .As Cl is large distance away from carbon with respect to F that is why dipole moment of CH3F is lover than CH3Cl

There are two main reasons for the stability of colloidal sols:
Solvation: Colloidal particles are covered by a sheath of liquid in which they are extensively solvated, thereby providing stability.

Electrostatic stabilisation: Presence of equal and similar charges on the colloidal particles prevents coagulation of the colloidal sol.

The vapour pressure of ammonia at room temperature is very high and hence the ammonia will evaporate unless the vapour pressure is decreased. Cooling decreases the vapour pressure so that the liquid remains in the same state. Hence, the bottle is cooled before opening.

Simply due to presence of hydrogen bonding in two corresponding amino acid between N -H atom . Since they tightly bind and strong force of attraction. Therefore amino acid have high boiling point as compared than haloalkane .
