Henry's law is valid for ideal gases and raoult's law is for solutions.
Partial pressure of a particular gas in a mixture of non reacting gases is the pressure that the given gas would exert if it is allowed to occupy the entire space of the container in which the mixture has been placed.

Yes, because basic strength depend on the lone pair donating capacity of the base.. Since the lp of aniline is involved in resonance with bezene ring it is less available for donation, while in aliphatic amine this is not the case. Hope it may help you..

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 11 months ago

The strength of a base is determined by its ability to donate the lone pair of electrons. In case of aniline (which is an aromatic amine), the lone pair of electrons on nitrogen is in resonance with the benzene ring. Hence it is not readily available for donation to an electron deficient species. This makes aromatic amines weak bases.

On the other hand, in alkyl amines, there is no such resonance. In fact, the alkyl groups are electron releasing groups which increase the electron density on nitrogen. Thus the electron pair on nitrogen can be donated very easily, because of which they are better electron donors and hence better bases than aromatic amines.

The yield in Sandmeyer reaction is found to be better than Gattermann reaction.Gattermann reaction is a variation of Sandmeyer reaction which the CuCl is replaced by Cu powder. This replacement leads to formation of aryl halide more easily and under mild conditions than Sandmeyer reaction although the yield is reduced

Anupam Sharma 5 years, 11 months ago

This is due to anamolous behaviour of oxygen Due to small size and high electronegativity of oxygen Also oxygen shows hydrogen bonding Due to all these reasons H↓2S is gas where as H↓2O is liquid

In lanthanides there is a gradual increase in atomic size, atomic radii and ionic radii with increase in atomic number. This regular decrease is known as lanthanide contraction.
Causes:In lanthanides, the nuclear charge increases by one unit at each successive element and this new electron enters the 4f-subshell. Due to the peculiar shapes of f-orbitals, there is imperfect shielding of electrons from the nuclear attraction. As a result of this the size of lanthanide atoms decreases.
In actinoid there is a gradual increase in atomic size, atomic radii and ionic radii with increase in atomic number. This regular decrease is known as actinoid contraction. Causes:In actinoid, the nuclear charge increases by one unit at each successive element and this new electron enters the 5f-subshell.
