Firstly tske a deep breadth and calm down, Nancy! And secondly p d f block is important indeed but if you haven't learnt it than just go through notes from cbseguide and than try to solve ncert examples and exercise at least twice. You will gain confidence for sure.

Let the mass of given solute be W.

Let the volume of the solution be V.

Let the molality be m.

Let the molar mass of solute be M’.

Let the Molarity be M.

Let the weight of the solvent be W’.

Therefore the Molarity, M = W/M′∗1000/V ………(1)

Therefore the molality, m = W/M′∗1000/W′ …….(2)

Density, d = M/V

= (W+W′)/V

From (1)

V = W∗1000MM′ …………. (3)

From (2)

W’ = W∗1000/mM′

Therefore,

W+W’ = W+W∗1000/mM′ 1000M′[mM′1000m+1m]W′ …………(4)

By dividing equation (4) by (3) we get,

dM=1/m+M′1000 1/m=d/M−M′1000 m=M∗1000/(d∗1000)−M(M′)

Hence the relation between molality and Molarity proved.

Divya Shrivastav 5 years, 10 months ago

molarity - no. of moles of solute dissolved in per litre of solution molality- no. of moles of solute dissolved in per kg of solvent

Alpha Fiend 5 years, 10 months ago

If this question is asked in 1-2 marks (Previously asked in 2019) You can mention the main difference, i.e. Fructose have ketone group attached but glucose have aldehyde (glucose is aldose, fructose is ketose). You can make structure for them as well.

Bond angle is directly proportional to electronegativity of central atom. as electronegativity of O is more than S so bond angle of H2O more than H2S. Due to more electronegativity of oxygen electron cloud shift towards it and this lead to increase in b.p-b.p repulsion

Riya Rana 5 years, 10 months ago

But then Oxygen is more electronegative than sulphur and there will be more repulsion in o-o and thus the bond angle is more.

Tamanna Sharma 5 years, 10 months ago

But here inH2O only one oxygen is present and same for S in H2S

Tapan Pandey ?? 5 years, 10 months ago

Oxygen--oxygen repulsion is more than sulphur-- sulphur repulsion

Tapan Pandey ?? 5 years, 10 months ago

Because, oxygen is more electronegative as compared to sulphur

Tamanna Sharma 5 years, 10 months ago

And in H2S there is also present a hydrogen bonding

Tamanna Sharma 5 years, 10 months ago

Prem, most electronegative element is fluorine not oxygen

Prem Thakur 5 years, 10 months ago

Because H2O forms hydrogen bond and the polarity is between most elctronegative element O,and H.
