Newton's Second Law of motion states that the rate of change of momentum of an object is proportional to the applied unbalanced force in the direction of the force. ie., F=ma Where F is the force applied, m is the mass of the body, and a, the acceleration produced.

Kinetic Energy(E) = 1/2mv^2 ——(1)

Momentum(P) = m*v ————(2)

From equation 1

1/2 * m * v *v

1/2 * p*v

So, E = 1/2pv.

This is the relation that is been induced from these two equations. So kinetic energy become half.

There are total three laws of motion :- 1) First Law states that an object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an external force . it is also known as inertia. 2)SECOND LAW OF MOTION states that when a force acts upon an object that has a specified mass, a corresponding acceleration is produced. 3)Third law of motion states that for every action there is equal and opposite reaction.
