According to Doppler effect whenever there is a relative motion between a source of sound and the listener the frequency of sound received by the listener is different from the actual frequency of sound emitted by the source.

Yogita Ingle 7 years, 2 months ago

  • Doppler Effect is the phenomenon of motion-related frequency change.
  • Consider if a truck is coming from very far off location as it approaches near our house, the sound increases and when it passes our house the sound will be maximum. And when it goes away from our house sound decreases.
  • This effect is known as Doppler Effect.
  • A person who is observing is known as Observer and object from where the sound wave is getting generated it is known as Source.
  • When the observer and source come nearer to each other as a result waves get compressed. Therefore wavelength decreases and frequency increases.

Second law of thermodynamics

The Second Law of Thermodynamics states that the state of entropy of the entire universe, as an isolated system, will always increase over time. The second law also states that the changes in the entropy in the universe can never be negative.

Following are the statements of second law of thermodynamics:

(i) All spontaneous process is irreversible in nature.

(ii) The net entropy of the universe in any natural process always increases and tends to acquire maximum value.

(iii) In reversible process, the sum of entropies of system and surrounding remains constant but in an irreversible the total entropy of the system and surrounding increases.

in physics we want to make the system work for us but when we have to work on the system it is taken negative and in chemistry we want to work on the system so it is taken as positive

Sugam Sharma 7 years, 2 months ago

It is not compressio it is expansion

Sugam Sharma 5 years, 11 months ago

No , in chemistry also work done is negative. In thermo-d if we find work done when gas is compressed it will comes out to be negative

The angle between tangent to the liquid surface at the point of contact and solid surface inside the liquid is said to be angle of contact. At the line of contact the surfaces force between the three medium must be in equilobrium. (If angle of contact theta < 90°→liquid drop spread over solid surface).(If angle of contact theta>90°→liquid drop will not spread over solid surface).

Because the value of escape velocity<root mean square velocity of particles.

Niya Nath 7 years, 2 months ago

The main reason is the low value of escape velocity of moon.

Escape velocity of moon is the minimum speed required for an object to escape permanently from the gravitatational attraction of the moon.

The escape velocity of moon is 2.38km/s. So, all the gases escape from the surface of the moon. Hence, the moon has no atmosphere.

Because of their thickness, or height. That is, a cloud gets thicker and denser as it gathers more water droplets and ice crystals — the thicker it gets, the more light it scatters, resulting in less light penetrating all the way through it. The particles on the underside of the rain cloud don't have a lot of light to scatter to your eyes, so the base appears gray as you look on from the ground below.
