- Genus is a group of species which are related and have less characters in common as compared to species.
- Family is represented by a group of related genera that are more similar to each other than with the genera of other families.
In the hierarchy of biological classification, genus comes above species and below family. In binomial nomenclature, the genus name forms the first part of the binomial species name for each species within the genus. E.g. ... Panthera is a genus within the family Felidae.

Ammonification refers to any chemical reaction in which NH2 groups are converted into ammonia or its ionic form, ammonium (NH4+), as an end product. Bacteria and related microorganisms derive metabolically useful energy from the oxidation of organic nitrogen to ammonium. Ammonification is the process by which the organically bound nitrogen of microbial, plant, and animal biomass is recycled after their death. Ammonification is carried out by a diverse array of microorganisms that perform ecological decay services, and its product is ammonia or ammonium ion.

False fruit is a fruit formed from other parts of the plant as well as the ovary, especially the receptacle, such as the strawberry or fig. Mango develops from a ripened ovary and thus is called a true fruit. It is a kind of drupe. Apple develops from a ripened thalamus and is a false fruit. An accessory fruit (sometimes called false fruit, spurious fruit, pseudofruit, or pseudocarp) is a fruit in which some of the flesh is derived not from the ovary but from some adjacent tissue exterior to the carpel. Fruits derived from the ovary and other accessory floral parts are called false fruits.

An isolated metabolic reaction is the reaction which is carried out in-vitro i.e. outside the cell in a cell-free system. Such reactions are performed in a test tube. Hence, they are living reactions but not living things.
- Isolated metabolic reactions are helpful in several ways:
- They are useful to perform different researches in laboratories.
- They help to study various metabolic pathways.

Pepsin is the chief digestive enzyme in the stomach that breaks down proteins. We see that chief cells produce pepsinogen (an inactive form of pepsin). Pepsinogen is converted to pepsin when the parietal cells found within the gastric glands secrete hydrochloric acid. Pepsin is a nonspecific protease which is only active at acid pH, and is irreversibly denatured at neutral or alkaline pH as it moves from the stomach into the duodenum. It is therefore essential to make up the pepsin solution from powder in an acidic buffer.

Homeostasis is quite crucial for the survival of organisms. It is often seen as a resistance to changes in the external environment. Furthermore, homeostasis is a self-regulating process that regulates internal variables necessary to sustain life.
In other words, homeostasis is a mechanism that maintains a stable internal environment despite the changes present in the external environment.
