    The following effects on the jobs of the workers are observed (i) There is no permanent employment, but workers are employed only when needed, i.e. they are ‘flexible workers’. In the slack season, they are out of work with no compensation. (ii) Due to increased competition between companies, the MNC’s main objective is to lower costs. Here, the axe falls on the ‘labour costs’, in which, besides temporary eihpiloyment, the workers may be given lower wages or they may have to work on per day basis. (iii) Workers may have to work longer hours without any overtime payment at peak season time and be laid off from work without any compensation during the slack season.

    (1)-During Gandhi Ji's salt March, thousands of women came out of their homes to listen to him.They participated in protest marches , manufactured salt , and picketed foreign cloth and liquor shops. (2)-Many went to jail. (3)-In urban areas these women were from high-caste families; in rural areas they came from rich peasant households. (4)-Moved by Gandhi Ji's call ,they began to see service to the nation as a scared duty of women.     On 13 April , large crowd gathered in the enclosed ground of Jallianwala Bagh , some came to protest against the government's new repressive measure, while others were there to attend the annual Baisakhi Fair.Many villagers who had gathered there were unaware of the national law , imposed by the British ,General oyer entered the area , blocked the exit points and opened fire on the crowd killing hundreds of Italians, many of the victims were women and children, this object as he declared later , was to produce a moral effort , to the create in the minds of Satyagrahi a felling of terror and aeor.

    On 13th April 1919, the infamous Jallianwala Bagh incident took place. On that day, a crowd of villagers who had come to Amritsar to attend a fair gathered in the enclosed ground of Jallianwala Bagh. Being from outside the city, they were unaware of the martial law that had been imposed. General Dyer entered the area, blocked the only exit point, and opened fire on the crowd, killing and wounding hundreds of people. His objective was to ‘produce a moral effect’ to create in the minds of satyagrahis, a feeling of terror and awe. As the news spread, crowds took to the streets. There were strikes, clashes with police and attacks on government buildings. The government responded with brutal repression. Seeing violence spread, Mahatma Gandhi called off the movement.
