Non cooperation movement was a mass movement which was launched by Gandhi in 1920. It was a peaceful and a non-violent protest against the British government in India.
Programmes of the Non Cooperation movement were:

  • Indians were asked to relinquish their titles and resign from nominated seats in the local bodies as a mark of protest.
  • People had to resign from their government jobs.
  • People were asked to withdraw their children from government-controlled or aided schools and colleges.
  • People had to boycott foreign goods and use only Indian-made goods.

The main aim of the Non Cooperation movement was the demand of 'Swaraj' or the self government.

The Khilafat issue gave him the opportunity to bring the Hindus and Muslims on a common platform. The Ottoman Turkey was badly defeated in the First World War. There were rumours about a harsh peace treating likely to be imposed on the Ottoman emperor; who was the spiritual head of the Islamic world (the Khalifa). A Khilafat committed was formed in Bombay in March 1919 to defend the Khalifa. This committee had leaders like the brothers Muhammad Ali and Shaukat Ali. They also wanted Mahatma Gandhi to take up the cause to build a united mass action. At the Calcutta session of the Congress in September 1920, the resolution was passed to launch a non-cooperation movement in support of Khilafat and also for swaraj.

If this is related to the concept of economics then.....you can do the metioned thing if such an issue arises.. The first thing you have to remember is that as a consumer you have the RIGHT TO CHOOSE . So as per this right you can go according to your wish . If anyone tries to persuade you to choose a particular good or service then you can go to the state CONSUMER FORUM so that they'll help you to sort out about how to proceed further legally acoording to COPRA , 1986 . This you can get the information from NCERT economics text book page number 81 .

Sorry i forgot to write que. ans after own on first fifth line

Parth Sharma 6 years, 9 months ago

Dont panic with this subject. This was very easy subject. First read the chapter thauroli one or two time than learn its ncert question answers than if you have power to do this so made your own from book but at this time is very short so buy kundra bawa or ulike guide for sst and learn question answers from this or understand que. ans. Do this you will score good marks in sst in next exams. Prepare or download ppt of difficult chapters and read that ppt every week on Sunday. But dont forget that ppt was good and useful. I am also walking on these tips and I score 70 marks out of 80 in last periodic test. All the Best for your next exams.

Aashish Pillari 6 years, 9 months ago

Not that way ss is easy. If u think it as difficult it is .. but dont refer other material like arihant... Coz if u kearn 110 u will writee 95 but in arihant he shorts matters and give 90 and u write 70. So pls study t.b first. Then easy

Democracy means rule by the representatives elected by the people. The government is formed by the people, for the people and of the people. Through their elected representatives, every citizen takes part in the decision making process. All the policies, of the government are debated in the Parliament before taking final decisions. This takes a lot of time and leads to delays in the decision-making.
Although democratic government are expected to be attentive to the needs of the people and less corrupt, but in actual practice, it does not happen. Democracies often frustrate the needs of the people and often ignore the demand of a major portion of the population then work on party lines.
Democracy is also not free of corruption as most of the politician are indulged in money making. Thus, democracy is seen to be good in principle but felt not good in practice.
