The history of developed countries indicates that there has been a major shift from the secondary sector, i.e., manufacturing and industries, to the tertiary sector, i.e., services. The service sector has become the most important sector of the economy and most of the employed people in the developed countries are employed in this sector.

The Civil Disobedience Movement was different from the Non-Cooperation Movement. The main differences between these two movements are
(i) The Non-Cooperation Movement was launched in 1921 by Gandhiji, but the Civil Disobedience Movement was launched in 1930.
(ii) The Non-Cooperation Movement started with middle class participation whereas the Civil Disobedience Movement was first supported by the Industrialists like GD Birla, Purshottamdas Thakur.
(iii) Due to Khalifa issues Muslim community participated in Non-Cooperation on large scale. But the growing proximity of the Congress party and Hindu Mahasabha prevented the Muslims to participate in Civil Disobedience Movement.
(iv) The Non-Cooperation Movement was withdrawn by Gandhiji due to violent incident at Chauri Chaura.
But the Civil Disobedience Movement was withdrawn in 1931, when Gandhi signed ‘Gandhi-Irwin’ pact.
(v) In Non-Cooperation Movement, Women did not participate in large scale. But large scale participation of women is one of the most significant features of the Civil Disobedience Movement.

Under COPRA, a three-tier quasi-judicial machinery at the district, state and national levels was set up for redressal of consumer disputes.
The district level court deals with the cases involving claims upto 20 lakhs, the state level courts between 20 lakhs and 1 crore and the national level court deals with cases involving claims exceeding 1 crore.
If a case is dismissed in district level court, the consumer can also appeal in state and then in National level courts. Thus, the Act has enabled us as consumers to have the right to represent in the consumer courts.
It strengthened the Consumer Movement and provided the consumers with the right to seek redressal against unfair trade practices and exploitation. If any damage is done to a consumer, she has the right to get compensation depending on the degree of damage.

The introduction of money resulted in the end of the barter system where goods were exchanged according to the needs. Now, money acts as an intermediate in the exchange process, and thus, it is known as a medium of exchange. Anyone can exchange his goods for money and buy commodities that are required by him or his family.
For examples, a fruit seller wants to sell his fruits in order to buy wheat. In absence of money, he will have to look for some person who wants to sell wheat and buy fruits. This is not easy and always possible. However, in the case of availability of money as a medium of exchange, the fruit seller just has to find a buyer for his fruits. Once fruits are exchanged for money, he can now purchase wheat from the market.

Disadvantages of power sharing are:

1. It leads to a feeling between citizens that the sharing of power leads to division of power which makes a country weaker than it would be if power rested in one hand.

2. It also leads to misunderstanding between the council of various organs.

3. It also leads to thinking that it poses a risk to nation's unity.

4. It also sometimes leads to conflict between two states, two districts or even two cities or locality.

1.Overlapping of work leass to confusion 2. Unnecessary competition between different regions. 3.leads to widening of gaps between rich nd poor

National Resources are the resources which belong to the people of a nation :
The country has legal powers to acquire even private property for public good. For example, Urban development authorities. All the minerals, water, forests, wildlife, land within the political boundaries and oceanic area upto 12 nautical miles from the coast termed as territorial water belong to the nation.
International resources are the resources which are regulated by some international institutions. The oceanic resources beyond 200 nautical miles of the exclusive economic zone belong to the open oceans and no individual country can utilise these resources without the consent of international institutions e.g. India has the right to use the manganese nodules from the bed of the Indian ocean which lie beyond the exclusive economic zone.

(i) Unstable government Lots of political parties are allowed to criticise the government and its policies. Sometimes, it leads to the downfall of the ruling party and re-elections in the country. This gives instability to the government.
(ii) Slow and inefficient government The most common demerit of democracy is that, it is slow in its functioning. The decision-making process involves long debates and deliberations in the Parliament. This takes a lot of time before the decisions are actually taken.
(iii) Incompetence Democracy gives every individual the right to voice his concern. As a result, everybody focusses on his personal interests and not the -
collective interests. This sometimes leads to incompetent and wrong selections of the candidates in the government.
(iv) Role of money in a democracy Money plays an important role at the time of the elections. A lot of money is needed to organise demonstrations, public meetings and speeches. Those candidates are chosen in the elections, who can raise lot of money for the party.

The Indo-China region of modern-day Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos struggled with colonisation from the Europeans just like India. They too fought back to gain their independence and this where their nationalist movement started. Vietnam actually gained formal independence even before India. Let us take a look at the rise of the nationalist movement in Indo-China.
