Foreign trade has been integrating markets of different countries, as it allows the producers to cross international boundaries in search of cheap raw materials. The manufactured goods and services can now be sold in various markets of different countries. With many MNCs in the market, the consumer now has a wide range of products coming from different nations to choose from.  Foreign trade therefore, interlinks various markets across the countries.
For example, Volkswagen, a German automobile company, is the biggest German automaker and second largest automaker in the world. It came to India in 2007 and had recorded sales of 32,627 vehicles in the year 2010. Volkswagen, by launching various models of cars in India, has broadened choices of people in the automobile sector.

The Great Depression began in 1929. India was an exporter of wheat to European countries. When the international prices of wheat crashed because of the Great Depression, prices of wheat in India fell almost by 50%. Peasants and farmers were the worst sufferers. While the prices of the crops declined, the government refused to reduce the revenues. This forced the peasants to borrow money from the moneylenders. At this time in India, the peasants’ indebtedness increased.

Multi-party System: If several parties compete for power and more than two parties have a reasonable chance of coming to power either on their own strength or in alliance with others, we call it a multi-party system.
India adopted multi-party system for the following reasons
(i) Being a vast, and diverse country, the multi-party system was needed to accommodate the vast population.
(ii) The diverse social and geographical features could not be represented with two or three parties.
(iii) The multi-party system in India evolved over a long time, depending on the nature of society, its social, regional division, its history of politics and its system of elections.
(iv) Multi-party system ensures a healthy competition between different parties and prevents dictatorship of a single party. Indian Constitution declares India as a democratic country. Multi-party system fulfils this criteria and provides chance for proper growth of the nation.

This challenge involves strenghthening of institutions and practise of demo... This should happen in such a way that people can realise their expectations from demo..... In general terms, it means strengthening those institutions that help people's participation and control.... This requires an attempt to bring down control and influence of rich and powerful people in making governmental decision. C.Congress agreed that adequate representation would be given to the depressed classes in the civil services.
D.The depressed classes agreed to adhere to the principle of Joint Electorate.
We see that the Poona pact was more generous to the depressed classes comparing to the Communal Award. The seats reserved for the Depressed Classes out of the general Non-Muhammadan seats in the provincial legislatures were as follows:

First of all, diversity and division are very diff terms, dont get confused, they cannot be used interchangeably........diversity means simply the differences we see in the society among various people. These differences could occur either due to the accident of birth or due to different choices of various people..... If these differences create dispute among diff groups, then these social differences become social division

when social difference overlap each other then it is called a social division

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 9 months ago

Social differences are the situations where people are discriminated against on the basis of social, economic, and racial inequality.
On the other hand, social division means division of society on the basis of social differences like language, region, caste, colour, race and ***.
Social differences can be easily accommodated with some reservation policies.
But social division sometimes lead to political division of the country.

India is a country with rich natural resources. She has been endowed with plenty of metallic and non- metallic minerals. However, these minerals are unevenly distributed due to variations in geological structures and various natural processes. For example:

  • Most of the coal, metallic and non metallic minerals are found in the Peninsular India.
  • Sedimentary rocks on the western and eastern flanks of the peninsula, in Gujarat and Assam have most of the petroleum deposits.
  • While Rajasthan has reserves of many non-ferrous minerals, the alluvial plains of north India are almost devoid of economic minerals.

Puja Sahoo 6 years, 9 months ago

Frm this we can say that mineral resources in India are unevenly distributed .........

Puja Sahoo 6 years, 9 months ago

* peninsular plateau contains most of the reserves of coal, metallic minerals, mica, and many other non metallic minerals...... *Gujarat and Assam : sedimentary rocks on the western and eastern flanks of the peninsula, they have most of the petroleum deposits..... *Rajasthan has reserves of many non ferrous minerals....... *Northern plateau has very little or no economic minerals in vast alluvial plains of north india....

The 'Salt March' acted as an effective tool of resistance against colonialism because it involved a stirring demand against the abolition of tax. Salt was something consumed by the rich and the by the rich and the poor alike. The tax on salt and the government monopoly over its production revealed the most oppressive face of British rule. To peacefully defy the British, Mahatma Gandhi started his famous salt march accompanied by 78 of his trusted volunteers. On 6 April he reached Dandi, and ceremonially violated the law, manufacturing salt by boiling sea water. This also marked the beginning of Civil Disobedience Movement.

Consumers have Right to seek redressal against unfair trade practices and exploitation.
If damage is done to the consumer, he or she has the right to get compensation depending on the degree of damage.
For example,
Ravi had bought a SUV, from a car dealer with 1 year warrenty.
While driving it he found that it had no feature of SUV and its feature are all that of ordinary car.
He filed a case in a district level consumer court in New Delhi as the car dealer agency did not respond to his repeated appeal for compensation.
The court verified his document. The court gave verdict in his favour and awarded full compensation to him and frame charges against the car company for selling false product.

Puja Sahoo 6 years, 9 months ago

If a person buys some product and is not satisfied with its quality as it may be damaged or it was an unfair trade practice,he/she can replace the product, get a free repair,or get a refund of money for it.........
