Difference between ncm and cdm are 1. Ncm sought to bring the walking of the government to a standstill by not cooperating with the administration and cdm was an attempt at paralysing the administration by breaking some specific rules and regulations. 2. There was large scale participation of muslims working class in the ncm and there was less participation from Muslim community due to policy of divide and rule.

The removal of soli form land is known as soil erosion

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 7 months ago

Denudation of the soil cover and subsequent washing down is known as soil erosion.
Causes of soil erosion:

  1. Due to human activities like deforestation, overgrazing, construction and mining, etc.
  2. Natural forces like wind, glacier and water leads to soil erosion.
  3. The running water cuts through clayey soils and makes deep channels as ‘gullies’. The land becomes unfit for cultivation, this process is called gully erosion and the land is called bad land or ravines in the Chambal basin.
  4. Sometimes, water flows as a sheet over large areas down a slope. It leads to the washing away of the top soil. This process is called sheet erosion.
  5. Wind blows loose soil off flat or sloping land, and is called wind erosion.
  6. Soil erosion is also caused due to defective methods of farming.

Dynastic succession is one of the most serious challenges before the political parties because:
1) Most political parties do not practice open and transparent procedures for their functioning.
2) There are few ways for an ordinary worker to rise to the top in a party.
3) In many parties, the top positions are always controlled by members of one family.
4) This practice is unfair to other members of that party and is also bad for a democracy.
5) People who do not have adequate experience or popular support come to occupy the position of power.

Political Parties in India face a lot of challenges. The main challenge they face is the lack of internal democracy. Power in a political party is concentrated among the leaders at the top. So, personal loyalty to the leaders becomes more important than loyalty to party principles.
Dynastic succession is also a major challenge. The top positions of a party are controlled by the members of one family, or people close to the leaders. Few opportunities are given to a lower level worker to rise. This is bad because people without sufficient experience or popular support are able to enjoy positions of power.
Parties require money to win elections and this requires a lot of money. Therefore they tend to nominate candidates who can raise a lot of money, regardless of their other attributes. Rich people who donate money to the party can influence the way the party machinery works. Sometimes parties support criminals just because they can win elections.
There is a convergence of ideologies among the major parties. This is also a challenge to political parties. People who want vastly different ideas to come to the forefront have no option open to them.

Do you mean to ask 'the impact of the First world war on India"

The War created a new economic and political situation :
(i) It led to a huge increase in defence expenditure which was financed by war loans and increasing taxes, customs duties were raised, and income tax introduced.
(ii) Through the war years, prices increased – doubling between 1913 and 1918 – leading to extreme hardships for the common people.
(iii) Villagers were called upon to supply soldiers, and the forced recruitment in rural areas caused widespread anger.

(iv) The First World war gave a boost to the Indian industries. Since textile industries in Britain began to supply goods related to the War like uniforms, shoes and racksags, the Indian industries took advantage of the void and bagan to manufacture the cloth.

The period between 1830 and 1848 was marked by a lot of tensions and turmoil in Europe. Europe had witnessed the dramatic rise of two philosophies, liberalism and conservatism. The liberal nationalists or the educated middle class planned ways to overthrow monarchy and bring in a government of the people. Europe hence saw a series of revolutions in Italy, Germany, Poland, Turkey and Ireland.

In 1821 in the Greek war of independence, the Greeks began a nationalist movement. Several poets (Lord Byron) and artists supported the Greek war against the Ottoman Empire. After the war, the Treaty of Constantinople was signed in 1832 and recognized Greece as an independent nation.

In 1830 the Bourbon dynasty, restored in 1815 during the conservatives’ reaction, was overthrown by liberal revolutionaries. The French revolution of 1830 is also known as the July Revolution.

In the 19th century, art, culture and literature helped in instilling the feeling of nationalism and also infusing the idea of a nation. After the French revolution, there was rise of a literary and cultural movement called romanticism, which sought to develop nationalist sentiment. This national sentiment was mobilised by artists by using the common language, or vernacular, and popular folk arts that people understood and identified with.

Writers, poets, painters and musicians of the romantic era stressed on individualism, nationalism, feeling, imagination and emotion as opposed to reason and science.
