Initial years of development = Primary sector was the most predominant contributor to the GDP with agriculture the most labour absorbing as new methods of farming came up followed by artisans and craftpersons. Industrial sector = As new manufacturing methods emerged and technology began rising to importance, factories were set up. Thousands of men, women and children were forced to work in factories, especially during industrial revolution. This led to a gradual shift in sectoral contributions from primary to secondary sector. Tertiary sector = Then, as technology became highly advanced and new services came up, people got attracted to these SUNRISE industries. This led to a SUDDEN shift, and today ,in developed countries, tertiary sector is the most significant contributor to GDP followed by secondary and primary sectors.

Nature democratic politics in our country has indeed kept a line of the spirit of federalism in India. For example, according to the language policy in the Indian Constitution, the use of English language along with Hindi as an official language was to stop by 1965. But, unfortunately only 40% of the population used Hindi as their mother language. As a result, the non Hindia speaking states started fighting for resuming the use of English as an official language. The movement had become violent in Tamil Nadu. Thus, amendments were made in the Indian Constitution such that the use of English was to be resumed. The flexibility shown by political leaders had actually helped in upholding the spirit of federalism in the long run through this initiative.

The existence of more than one political party has indeed supported the concept of power sharing. In most contemporary democracies, power sharing between different political parties take the form of a competition. Known as ELECTION, the ruling party may or may not change at regular intervals. Resource planning is a step towards judicious use of resources with a view to promote sustainable to development. There are mainly 3 reasons why resource planning is essential for resource development :- 1) RESOURCES ARE NOT FREE GIFTS OF NATURE = Rather, resources are simply, the functions of human activity. Therefore, indiscriminate exploitation and overutilisation would lead to their scarcity. 2) RESOURCES ARE IMPORTANT FOR DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES = Sectors like AGRICULTURE and INDUSTRY which are considered to be the BACKBONE of Indian GDP depend directly on resources for their survival. Certain non renewable resources like FOSSIL FUELS are important for the country's development. 3) LARGE SCALE DEPENDENCE ON RESOURCES = A significantly large portion of the Indian population depend directly or indirectly on resources on their survival. Non renewable resources like FOSSIL FUELS are used by humans in day to day activities. Certain resources like food, water and shelter are required not only for present but also for future generations.
