A covalent bond is formed between two non-metals that have similar electronegativities. Neither atom is "strong" enough to attract electrons from the other. For stabilization, they share their electrons from outer molecular orbit with others . Covalent bonding is a form of chemical bonding between two non metallic atoms which is characterized by the sharing of pairs of electrons between atoms and other covalent bonds.
Example: Methane (CH4), Hydro Chloric acid (HCl)

The compounds in solid, liquid or gaseous state which contain carbon in its molecule are known as organic compounds. There are a large number of organic compounds and therefore a proper systematic classification was required. Organic compounds can be broadly classified as acyclic (open chain) or cyclic (closed chain

Water conservation is necessary because of:
1. Rainwater serves as a boon for us. So we can save the rainwater for our daily needs.
2. Prevents water pollution.
3. Demand for water is needed in agricultural fields, animal farms etc.
4. Urban and industrial areas require a higher amount of water than rural areas.
5. Increases energy savings and generate efficient use of water reserves.

A solar cell is a device which converts solar energy directly into electricity. A group of solar cells is called a solar cell panel. It consists of a large number of solar cells joined together in a definite pattern. It provides a lot of electric energy required by artificial satellites, water pumps, street lighting, etc. For joining the various solar cells in a solar panel, silver wires are used because silver metal is the best conductor of electricity having a very low resistance and which also increases efficiency.

SINGLE BOND
When two atoms share one electron pair between each other, then they are said to be bonded by single covalent bond, denoted by single dash joining the atoms. For the formation of this bond, presence of an atom with single valency is required. The atoms with single valencies are halogens and hydrogen.
e.g. – Cl2, HCl, NH3 etc.
DOUBLE BOND
When two atoms share two electron pair between each other, they are said to be bonded by double covalent bond, denoted by double dash joining the atoms. The atoms with double valency are chalcogens or the oxygen family.
E.g.:- O2, CO2 etc.
TRIPLE BOND
When two atoms share three electron pair between each other, they are said to be bonded by triple covalent bond. Triple bond is denoted by three dash joining the atoms. The atoms with triple valency are pnictogen or the nitrogen family.
E.g.: N2 , C2H2 etc.

A is Butanoic acid while B is Methyl proponate with molecular(C4H8O2).
Structural formula of both the compounds are
CH3CH2CH2COOH (Butanoic acid) &
CH3CH2COOCH3 (Methyl proponate)
Functional group present in compound B is
an ester (R-COO-R).
THE relationship between them is that they contain 1 molecule of Oxygen (O2).
Also both the compound react with NaOH a base

- Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev, a Russian scientist arranged the elements in increasing order of their relative atomic masses.
- Mendeleev’s Periodic Law states that the properties of elements are the periodic function of their relative atomic masses.
- Mendeleev arranged all 63 elements; which were discovered till his time; in the order of their increasing relative atomic masses in a tabular form. It is known as Mendeleev’s Periodic Table. He divided the table in eight columns and seven rows. The columns are known as groups and rows are known as periods.
