A rainbow is produced by the dispersion of white sunlight by raindrops in the atmosphere. Each raindrop acts like a tiny glass prism splitting the sunlight into a spectrum. As white sunlight enters and leaves these raindrops, the various coloured rays present in white light are refracted by different amounts due to which an arc of seven colours called rainbow is formed in the sky. HOPE IT HELPS ? ?....

Aniket Sarve 6 years, 3 months ago

Rainbow is caused by dispersion of sunlight by tiny water droplet's hanging in the atmosphere after a rain shower. The water droplets acts like a small prism. As the water droplets refract and disperse the incident sunlight.These ray are then reflected internally and finally refracted again and come out of the rain drop. Due to the dispersion and internal Reflection of light different color reach the observer eye and rainbow is seen.

An important point to be noted here is that a rainbow is always formed in a direction opposite ti that if the Sun.

Cleaning action of soap has been explained with the help of the image below. Soaps are molecules in which the two ends have differing properties, one is hydrophilic, that is it dissolves in water, while the other end is hydrophobic, that is it dissolves in hydrocarbons. When soap is at the surface of water the hydrophobic ‘tail’ of soap will not be soluble in water and the soap will align along the surface of water with the ionic end in water and the hydrocarbon ‘tail’ protruding out of water. Inside water, these molecules have a unique orientation that keeps the hydrocarbon portion out of the water. This is achieved by forming clusters of molecules in which the hydrophobic tails are in the interior of the cluster and the ionic ends are on the surface of the cluster. This formation is called a micelle. Soap in the form of a micelle is able to clean, since the oily dirt will be collected in the centre of the micelle. The micelles are large enough to scatter light. Hence a soap solution appears cloudy.

Electromagnetic Induction is a current produced because of voltage production (electromotive force) due to a changing magnetic field.

The electromotive force generated due to electromagnetic induction is called induced emf. The current due to induced emf is called induced current.

AC IS Alternating current while DC is direct current. AC is used to transfer the electricity to long distance while DC is used to transfer the electricity to short distance

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 3 months ago

Alternating Current

Direct Current

AC can carry and safe to transfer longer distance even between two cities, and maintain the electric power. DC cannot travel for a very long distance. It does, it loses electric power.
The rotating magnets cause the change in direction of electric flow. The steady magnetism makes DC flow in a single direction.
The frequency of AC is depended upon the country. But, generally, the frequency is 50Hz or 60Hz. DC has no frequency of zero frequency.
In AC the flow of current changes its direction backwards periodically. It flows in a single direction steadily.
Electrons in AC keep changing its directions – backward and forward Electrons only move in one direction – that is forward.

Sonam Tiwari 6 years, 3 months ago

In AC- current is not constant . But in DC CURRENT IS ALWAYS CONSTANT

Khushi Kumari 6 years, 3 months ago

The principle of an electric generator is electromagnetic induction.

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 3 months ago

In an electric generator mechanical energy is used to rotate a conductor in a magnetic field to produce electricity.
Fleming’s right hand rule is used where motion and magnetic field is given and the current is induced.

Copper wire cannot be used as fuse wire because it is not high melting and boiling point

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 3 months ago

A fuse is a thin wire made of a material which have low melting point so that it melts and breaks off the circuit if the current exceeds the safety limit. A copper wire cannot be used as a fuse wire because it has a high melting point. It will not melt easily when a high electric current passes through it and may damage the electrical appliances.

Two hazards associated with the use of electricity are:
i. If a person happens to touch a live electric wire, he gets a severe electric shock.
ii. Short-circuiting due to damanged wiring or overloading of the circuit can cause electrical fire in a building.

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 3 months ago

{tex}CaCO_3\rightarrow CaO+CO_2{/tex}

Light: {tex}2AgCl(s)\rightarrow 2Ag(s)+Cl_2(g){/tex}

Electricity: {tex}2H_2O\rightarrow 2H_2+O_2{/tex}

Explanation:

Decomposition reaction is a chemical reaction in which one reactant is converted to two or more than two products. The breaking of bonds require absorption of energy and thus all decomposition reactions are endothermic in nature.

Thermal decomposition is decomposition carried by using heat, Photo decomposition is decomposition carried by using light and Electrolytic decomposition is decomposition carried by using electricity.

Fatty acids are merely carboxylic acids with long hydrocarbon chains. The hydrocarbon chain length may vary from 10-30 carbons (most usual is 12-18). ... Unsaturated fats are not linear due to double bonded carbons which results in a different molecular shape because the sp2 carbons are trigonal planar.

Carbon dating process

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 3 months ago

There are two ways of estimating the age of fossils:
i) First is the relative method. If we dig into the earth and start finding fossils, it is reasonable to suppose that the fossils we find closer to the surface are more recent than the fossils we find in deeper layers.
ii) The second way of dating fossils is by detecting the ratios of different isotopes of the same element in the fossil material .

when we take oxygen show the nasal cavity. then the oxygen goes to the alveoli that is sac like structure present in the lungs. Here by the process of diffusion exchange of gases between the blood and the alveoli takes place.

Then the blood goes to the heart.And heart pumps that pure blood to the other part of the body or the targeted site.

When the blood goes to the site or the tissues. Then again the process of diffusion takes place for the exchange of the gases (Oxygen and Carbon dioxide).

In the blood there is high concentration of oxygen then the tissue. On other hand, in tissue there is high concentration of carbon dioxide than the blood. Hence by the diffusion the exchange of gases takes place.

In the blood where high concentration of carbon dioxide present goes to the heart. Heart pumps the blood to the lungs for purification. This pathway continuous goes on.
