Both the formula mentioned above gives the relation between power and resistance. Consider P = I2R the electric power is directly proportional to resistance keeping I constant. Which implies-
- When power increases, the resistance will also increase keeping current I constant.
- When Resistance decreases, Power also reduces keeping current I constant.
Consider P=V2/R here, Power P is inversely proportional to Resistance R. which implies that-
For any constant Potential difference
- When power is high, resistance will be low.
- When power is low, the resistance will be high.

Homologous Series
- A series of carbon compounds in which same functional group substitutes the hydrogen atom is called a homologous series.
- These compounds have similar chemical properties due to the addition of same kind of functional group throughout the chain.
- For example, the series of alkanes i.e. Methane, ethane, propane, butane and so on is a homologous series.

FUNCTIONAL GROUP
• Functional group : is an atom or group of atoms in an organic molecule which characterised the molecule and enables it to react in specific ways (determines its chemical properties) .
Why functional groups are important?
i. A basic by which organic compounds are divided into different classes.
ii. A basic for naming organic compounds
iii. A particular functional group will always undergo similar types of chemical reactions.
HOMOLOGOUS SERIES
• A homologous series: a group of compounds with the same functional group.
• Members of the same homologous series: homologs.
• General characteristics of homologs;
a) represented by the same general formula
b) Each member differs from the next member by a –CH2 unit.
c) The physical properties change gradually with increasing Mr.
d) Similar chemical properties.
e) Can be prepared by the same method.

Animal fat or vegetable oil act as glyceride or glyceryl ester. And sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide act as bases.
Take about 30 ml of vegetable oil in a beaker. Then add 60 ml of 20% sodium hydroxide solution to it.
This mixture is heated slowly till it boils. After the mixture has boiled for five to ten minutes add 5grams of sodium chloride in order to separate soap from the solution. Allow the solution to cool. The creamy layer floating on top of the solution is the soap.
Thus soap is prepared by hydrolysing fat or oil with bases such as sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide. This process of soap preparation is known as saponification

These types of magnets can retain their magnetism and magnetic properties for a longer time. Strongly magnetized hard materials make up permanent magnets. A perfect example of a permanent magnet is the Bar Magnet. This magnet widely explains the behavior of magnets. Actually, we call permanent magnets as Bar Magnets also.

The fuse is always connected in the beginning of the circuit of the appliance in the live wire, so that the fuse may melt first, before current reaches the appliance. Due to voltage fluctuation (or short circuiting), the fuse F blows off, the circuit becomes incomplete and no current flows in the appliance.

There can be many substances whose resistance remains almost unchanged by increase of temperature.
Materials such as wood and air can be the ones, which has a high electric resistance and it changes rarely with the increase in temperature.
Apart from this there are some metal alloys whose resistance remains almost unchanged.

Quantum mechanics is the branch of physics that deals with the behavior of matter and light on a subatomic and atomic level. It attempts to explain the properties of atoms and molecules and their fundamental particles like protons, neutrons, electrons, gluons, and quarks. The properties of particles include their interactions with each other and with electromagnetic radiation. So below mentioned are those two pointers one should know necessarily before tackling quantum mechanics.

Alloys are used instead of the pure metals in the electrical heating devices because they have the less electrical conductivity with the less melting point.
The Alloys does not have any single melting point instead of that they have numerous melting point.
So that’s why the alloys are used in the electrical appliances.
