Atomic radii are often measured in angstroms (Å), a non-SI unit: 1 Å = 1 × 10 −10 m = 100 pm. ... (a) The covalentatomic radius, r cov, is half the distance between the nuclei of two like atomsjoined by a covalent bond in the same molecule, such as Cl 2.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 11 months ago

Atomic radius is the distance from the centre of the nucleus to the outermost shell containing electrons. In other words, it is the distance from the center of the nucleus to the point up to which the density of the electron cloud is maximum.

Light from the Sun near the horizon passes through a thicker layer of air and a larger distance in the Earth’s atmosphere before reaching our eyes.
However, light from the Sun overhead has to travel a lesser distance. At noon, the Sun appears whitish or yellowish as only little blue and violet light are scattered. However, near the horizon, most of the blue light and shorter wavelengths are scattered. Thus, the Sun appears reddish in colour during sunrise or sunset.

3R refers to reduce reuse and recycle

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 11 months ago

The three R's used to save the environment are Reduce, Recycle and Reuse.

Reduce: This means that we should use the resources judiciously and check their misuse. We use less of the natural resources by cutting down on those practices which lead to their wastage. We should save electricity by switching off unnecessary lights and fans. We should save water by repairing leak taps. We can reduce the use of LPG by making use of solar cooker for cooking food.

Recycle: Recycle means that we should collect the used and discarded plastic, paper, glass and metal items and recycle this material to make required things instead of synthesizing fresh plastic, paper, glass or metal.

Reuse: This is even better than recycling because it save the energy which is spent at recycling a products no energy is required during reuse. We should use the same things again. For example envelopes can be used by reversing them
