Copper metal when exposed to air turns green in colour due to corrosion. When copper vessel is exposed to air in rainy season, the metal reacts with gases and moisture and atmospheric gases to form a mixture of copper carbonate and copper hydroxide. This gives a green colour to the surface of copper metal.

The reaction is as follows:

2Cu + H2O + CO2 + O2 →  Cu(OH)2  +  CuCO3

Sorry, a diagram cannot be drawn here? but here u can get an excellent explanation from me Light effects the growth of plant in terms of the direction in which it grows. This is known as phototrophic movement. Then plant gives response to sunlight. The shoot grows towards the light and root grows away from the light. Gravity also effects the direction in which a plant grows. The stimulus is gravity and thia phenomenon is known as geotropism. The root's growth is directed towards centre of gravity, while shoot usually grows upward, away from the surface.

Elements with similar chemical properties will react in a similar manner with hydrogen and oxygen. The converse is also true. If some elements form similar compounds, with the same basic formula(for eg with oxygen and hydrogen),then the elements will have similar chemical properties. So elements witb the same molecular formula will come under the same group and because of their same formula, they will have similar properties?
