Sodium metal reacts violently with water. The reaction is so violent and exothermic that the evolved hydrogen immediately catches fire. The reaction is:
2Na + H2O → 2NaOH + H2 + heat energy
ii. Hot water:
Magnesium reacts with hot water to form magnesium hydroxide and hydrogen. The reaction is:
Mg + 2H2O → Mg(OH)2 + H2
iii. Steam:
Aluminium does not react either with cold or hot water. It reacts with steam to form the aluminium oxide (Al2O3) and hydrogen. The reaction is:
2Al + 3H2O → Al2O3 + 3H2
Metals such as lead, copper, silver, and gold do not react with water at all.

There are 5 isomers of hexane. They are hexane, 2-methylpentane, 3-methylpentane, 2,2-dimethylbutane, and 2,3-dimethylbutane. They are known as constitutional isomers because they each contain exactly the same number and type of atoms. In this case, six carbons and 14 hydrogens and no other atoms.

Sodium carbonate is generally prepared by Solway process . This process is also called ammonia soda process. Raw materials used are Nacl, milk of lime and ammonia. In this process CO2 is bubbled through the solution of brine saturated with ammonia when hydrogen carbonate precipitates due to common ion effect.

- Some amount of plasma, proteins and blood cells escape into the intercellular spaces in the tissues to form lymph or tissue fluid.
- Lymph is similar to blood plasma but colorless and contains less protein.
- Lymph drains into lymphatic capillaries which join to form large lymph vessels and which open into larger veins.
- Function of lymph is to carry absorbed digested fat from intestine and it also drains excess fluid from extra cellular space back into the blood.

When ethanoic acid reacts with sodium carbonate, a brisk effervescence of carbon dioxide gas is observed. The salt formed due to this reaction is sodium ethanoate.
The chemical equation for the above reaction is as follows:
2CH3COOH + Na2CO3 → 2CH3COONa + CO2 + H2O

Auxins are phytohormones, which help to coordinate growth and development in the plant body. Auxin stimulates cell elongation. Together with cytokinins, auxins stimulate cell division. Auxins breaks the root apical dominance induced by cytokinins and induce new root formation. But they induce shoot apical dominanace. Auxins are responsible for causing phototropism, geotropism and hydrotropism. Auxin is also important for fruit growth and delays fruit senescence. Thus auxin is a very important plant hormone.
