Television is an amazing window on the world. At the flick of a button, you can travel from the North Pole to the Serengeti, watch men walking on the Moon, see athletes breaking records, or listen to world leaders making historic speeches. Television has transformed entertainment and education; in the United States, it's been estimated that children spend more time watching TV (on average 1023 hours a year) than they do sitting in school (900 hours a year). Many people feel this is a bad thing. One of TV's inventors, Philo T Farnsworth (1906–1971), came to the conclusion that television was hopelessly dumbed down and refused to let his children watch it. Whether TV is good or bad, there's no doubting that it's an ingenious invention

During fertilization, the sperm and egg unite in one of the fallopian tubes to form a zygote. Then the zygote travels down the fallopian tube, where it becomes a morula. Once it reaches the uterus, the morula becomes a blastocyst. The blastocyst then burrows into the uterine wall — a process called implantation. The distinction between embryo and fetus is made based on gestational age. An embryo is the early stage of human development in which organs are critical body structures are formed. An embryo is termed a fetus beginning in the 11th week of pregnancy, which is the 9th week of development after fertilization of the egg.

The pancreas is an organ located in the abdomen. It plays an essential role in converting the food we eat into fuel for the body's cells. The pancreas has two main functions: an exocrine function that helps in digestion and an endocrine function that regulates blood sugar. The pancreas produces enzymes to help break down proteins, fats and carbohydrates.

Nikku Shekhawat 5 years, 6 months ago

Pancreas performs following two main functions in our body:- (i) Exocrine function: It works as an exocrine gland and helps in the digestion of food. It produces various enzymes such as amylase, lipase and trypsin which help to breakdown carbohydrate, fats and proteins respectively. (ii) Endocrine function: While working as an endocrine gland it secrets two major hormones, insulin and glucagon which regulate the level of sugar present in the blood.

To measure electric potential.

Meghna Thapar 5 years, 6 months ago

A voltmeter is an instrument used for measuring electrical potential difference between two points in an electric circuit. Analog voltmeters move a pointer across a scale in proportion to the voltage of the circuit; digital voltmeters give a numerical display of voltage by use of an analog-to-digital converter. An ammeter is a measuring device used to measure the electric current in a circuit. A voltmeter is connected in parallel with a device to measure its voltage, while an ammeter is connected in series with a device to measure its current.

The energy can be used both to generate electricity and heat in the house, either through solar PV or solar thermal. Renewable energy is recovered from the sun, the wind and waves - which in this case is the sun. Solar cells harness the energy from the sun and transform this into usable electricity

Solar power is pollution free and causes no greenhouse gases to be emitted after installation. Reduced dependence on foreign oil and fossil fuels.

Fleming's left-hand rule.

If the forefinger points in the direction of magnetic field and the middle finger in the direction of current, then the thumb will points in the direction of motion or the force acting on the conductor. A current carrying conductor placed in a magnetic field experiences a force. If the direction of the field and that of current are mutually perpendicular to each other, then the force acting on the conductor will be perpendicular to both and that can be determined using the Fleming's left-hand rule.

The higher the concentration of H plus ions, the more acidic the solution and the lower the concentration of H plus ions, the less acidic the solution. And similarly, the basic strength of a solution, it depends on the concentration of OH minus ions. Titration of a weak base with a strong acid. In a weak base-strong acid titration, the acid and base will react to form an acidic solution. A conjugate acid will be produced during the titration, which then reacts with water to form hydronium ions. This results in a solution with a pH lower than 7.

When aluminium is exposed to the air, this overactive metal promptly reacts with the atmospheric oxygen to form aluminium oxide, which is a sticky natured compound of the same colour.

Thus, the aluminium protects itself from any corrosion by the formation of a layer of aluminium oxide over the entire metal surface and thus, aluminium is termed as a self-protecting metal.

Vaibhavi Arya 5 years, 6 months ago

Matter is any substance that has weight and ocupies space.

Meghna Thapar 5 years, 6 months ago

Matter is a substance that has inertia and occupies physical space. According to modern physics, matter consists of various types of particles, each with mass and size. The most familiar examples of material particles are the electron, the proton and the neutron. ... Matter can exist in several states, also called phases. In science, matter is the term for any type of material. Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space. At a minimum, matter requires at least one subatomic particle, although most matter consists of atoms. The word matter is sometimes used to refer to a pure substance.

1. Resistance is the physical property of a substance because of which it opposes the flow of current i.e. electrons whereas resistivity is the physical property of a particular substance which is having particular dimensions.

2. Resistance is directly proportional to the length and temperature while it is inversely proportional to the cross-sectional area of the material whereas resistivity is only proportional to the nature and temperature of the particular material.

A convex lens is also called a converging lens because it makes parallel light rays passing through it bend inward and meet (converge) at a spot just beyond the lens known as the focal point.
  • 1 answers

Lucifer ? Morningstar? 5 years, 6 months ago

By changing its shape, the lens changes the focal distance of the eye. In other words, it focuses the light rays that pass through it (and onto the retina) in order to create clear images of objects that are positioned at various distances.
