Copper does not react with cold water, hot water or steam however iron reacts with steam. If water tanks are made of steel which is an iron alloy than iron would react with steam formed from hot water.
3Fe + 4H2O →Fe3O4 + 4H2
That is why copper is used to make hot water tanks and not steel.

The molecules of air and other fine particles in the atmosphere have smaller size than the wavelength of visible light. These are more effective in scattering light of shorter wavelengths at the blue end than light of longer wavelengths at the red end. The red light has a wavelength about 1.8 times greater than blue light. Thus, when sunlight passes through the atmosphere, the fine particles in air scatter the blue colour (shorter wavelengths) more strongly than red. The scattered blue light enters our eyes.

Decomposition reaction is a type of chemical reaction in which a single compound breaks down into two or more elements or new compounds.Calcium carbonate or limestone decomposes into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide when heated and the reaction is used to make quicklime and carbon dioxide gas.
CaCO3(s) --> heat CaO(s)+CO2(g)↑

Homo sapiens is the only extant species of hominin around today, but a few thousand years ago, there were a few other species that existed alongside anatomically modern humans – the Neanderthals, Denisovans and the Homo floresiensis. Today, scientists consider Neanderthals to be more of a subspecies of humans rather than a completely separate species.

The path along which the unit North pole moves in a magnetic field is known as magnetic lines of force.
(a) These magnetic lines of force are closed continuous curves. They start from the North pole and end on the South pole. No two magnetic lines of force can intersect each other.
(b) The tangent at any point on the magnetic lines of force gives the direction of the magnetic field at that point.
(c) Where the magnetic field is strong, the magnetic lines of force are crowded and where the field is weak, the magnetic lines of forces are far from each other.

The sunlight that reaches the earth’s atmosphere is scattered in all directions by the gases and dust particles present in the atmosphere. The blue colour is scattered more and hence the sky appears blue. The reason for more scattering of blue colour is that the wavelength of the blue light is shorter than the other light. So blue light is scattered in all directions by the tiny molecules of air in Earth’s atmosphere. This the reason for the blue appearance of the sky.

Behind the mirror (v = 10cm)
Explanation:
u = -20cm
f = 20cm
1/f = 1/v + 1/u
1/20 = 1/v + 1/(-20)
2/20 = 1/v
v= 10cm
As v is positive means it will form behind the mirror.

Moseley gave the Modern Periodic Law which states that: Physical and chemical properties of the elements are the periodic function of their atomic numbers.
Atomic mass of an element is due to the mass of protons and neutrons present in the nucleus of its atom.
As the number of electrons in an atom are given by the atomic number and not by the mass number therefore, atomic number should form the basis of the classification of the elements in the periodic table and not atomic mass as predicted by Mendeleev.

Nematodes have a false body cavity and hence are called pseudocoelomate. Pseudocoelomate animals are also referred to as Blastocoelomate.
Pseudocoelmates are the animals whose body cavity is pseudocoelem i.e.their body is not lined by mesoderm, instead the mesoderm is present as scattered pouches in between the ectoderm and endoderm.

The transmission of nerve impulse from one neuron to another one takes place through the synapse, a minute gap between the nerve ending of one neuron and the dendrites of another neuron. The signal is first detected by the dendrites and then transmitted to the cell body, from where it reachs the nerve ending via the axon. From the nerve ending through the synapse it travels to another neuron.
